The 8 a.m. checklist
You've arrived to open up and the shopfront's been hit. Before frustration makes any decisions, run this list — it takes ten minutes and protects both your surface and your options.
- 1. Photograph everything — wide shots and close-ups, before anyone touches it. You'll want these for police file, insurance, your landlord and the removal quote
- 2. Report if warranted — hateful or threatening material: police, and get it removed same-day (call us — these jump our queue). Ordinary tagging: a non-emergency report creates the paper trail insurers and some landlords ask for
- 3. Check your lease — exterior walls are often the landlord's responsibility while glass is yours, or vice versa. Know whose bill it is before commissioning work
- 4. Don't scrub anything yet — the wrong solvent smears marker, spreads paint, or dulls your storefront finish; ten minutes of DIY can add hundreds to the professional fix
- 5. Send the photos for a quote — text them to (778) 200-8343; we quote firm from photos, usually same business day, and most storefront tags are gone within 24–48 hours
- 6. Open as normal — a tag hurts less than a closed sign; the fix is coming
Before tonight: think about round two
Storefronts that get hit once are often hit again the same month — the wall has been "discovered."
